Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Preparation

Every therapy, service, or emotional support dog should first be a well-behaved companion. We strongly encourage all of our candidates to achieve the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) standard, which demonstrates reliable obedience, good manners, and responsible behavior in public.
Our CGC preparation program teaches the skills necessary to pass the evaluation while building a stronger relationship between you and your dog. Even if your goal isn't therapy or service work, the CGC program provides an excellent foundation for every family dog.

Therapy Dog Training

A therapy dog is more than a well-trained pet—it must be calm, confident, friendly, and comfortable in a wide variety of environments. Therapy dogs provide comfort and emotional support to others in settings such as hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and community programs.

At DogKine, we evaluate your dog's temperament and help determine whether it is a suitable candidate. We then provide customized training for both you and your dog, focusing on obedience, confidence, manners, and the skills needed to prepare for therapy dog certification.

Emotional Support Animal (ESA)

Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) provide comfort and companionship that can benefit individuals with emotional or psychological disabilities. While ESAs are not required to have specialized task training like service dogs, a well-mannered, confident, and obedient dog creates a much more positive experience for both owner and pet.

Our training focuses on developing excellent manners, reliable obedience, and a calm, confident companion that can thrive in everyday life.

Service Dog Training

Service dogs perform specific trained tasks that assist individuals with disabilities. Success depends not only on exceptional obedience but also on a stable temperament, focus, and the ability to remain calm in challenging environments.

We begin with a temperament evaluation to determine whether your dog is an appropriate candidate. From there, we work alongside you to develop reliable task performance, public access behaviors, and the advanced obedience required for a dependable service dog. Our goal is to help the owner and dog become an effective working team.

The dogs training and skills quality we strive for is based on internationally recognized standards, including those promoted by Assistance Dogs International (ADI)
